Compte-rendu du 60e Anniversaire de L’IPA Liège (10 au 13 Mai 2018)
C’est sous un soleil radieux qu’ont débuté les 4 jours de notre soixantième anniversaire.
Jeudi 10 Mai
Dès 15hr, accueil des participants étrangers logeant au Pentahôtel, Bd de la Sauvenière 100 à Liège. C’est cependant dès le 09 mai avant-midi que notre Président accueillait déjà Thomas CIURLIK et son épouse venant de la 4ème Région IPA des USA. Ensuite le 10, dès 10hr que notre Secrétaire accueillait déjà aux Guillemins, Montserrat SENAR, membre espagnole (PJ de Gérona) et le couple Joseph CILIA de l’IPA MALTE.
Tout au long de l’après-midi notre Comité d’accueil a ensuite reçu des Collègues actifs et retraités de tous âges d’Allemagne, du Danemark, d’Espagne, de Suisse . . . Il leur est offert un verre de bienvenue ainsi qu’un sac aux couleurs de notre section contenant des informations sur Liège et des « nominettes » à leurs noms et drapeau national. A l’arrivée des 30 Valaisans (pris en charge sur l’autoroute par Jean) emmenés par leur Président Benoît SENGGEN, l’ambiance au bar est montée de plusieurs crans.
A 19hr nous étions déjà une septantaine pour notre premier repas du soir à l’hôtel (Salade de magret fumé, vinaigrette tiède, miel et balsamique – Ballotine de volaille à la truffe, champignons sautés, mille-feuille – Assiette du plaisir)
Au cours du repas, notre Président André NICOLAS prit la parole pour souhaiter la bienvenue en français, allemand, anglais et espagnol. Ce repas fut très convivial avec beaucoup d’ambiance.
La soirée s’est prolongée pour certains au bar de l’hôtel et à l’extérieur tandis que d’autres, fatigués du voyage rejoignaient leurs chambres.
Vendredi 11 Mai
Après un petit-déjeuner à 08h15, nos invités étaient prêts pour une journée bien chargée. Départ à pied vers la Place St Lambert où ils étaient pris en charge par des guides en français, anglais et allemand avec visite de la vieille ville. Quatre Néerlandais de l’IPA Limburg Zuid nous ont rejoints.
A 11hr tout le monde se retrouve au Palais provincial où nous sommes accueillis par le Gouverneur de Province, Monsieur Hervé JAMAR, membre d’honneur de notre association. Au cours du discours du Gouverneur, le « Roi » (del REY, jeune policier suisse) tomba dans les pommes et fut pris en charge par les services du Palais puis par le Gouverneur en personne. Plus de peur que de mal, il ne digérait pas bien sa sortie de la veille. .
A 12h25 après la photo traditionnelle sur le grand escalier, l’on quitta le Palais provincial pour rejoindre en bus des TEC spécialement réservé pour nous, l’hôtel de Police de Liège où 2 motards et le service PAB nous accueillaient. Apéritif suivi des traditionnels boulets liégeois, le tout accompagné d’un bon petit vin. Repas terminé, une trentaine de collègues étrangers ont visité le PAB et le CGE de la Police liégeoise tandis que d’autres et les épouses rejoignaient le musée des transports en commun pour une rapide visite puis partaient à pied vers la gare des Guillemins via la Boverie et la Passerelle. Le car récupère alors tout le monde pour rejoindre l’hôtel. Nous y retrouvons un nouveau couple d’Allemands arrivés dans l’après-midi avec une journée de retard.
Moins d’une heure pour se rafraîchir et être prêts à reprendre le bus à 18h00 vers la « République d’Outremeuse »
18h15 Le bus débarque une partie des visiteurs Place de l’Yser pour rejoindre le musée Tchantchès à pied via le quartier typique « En Roture ». Les autres, plus fatigués, sont déposés devant le musée. Accueil au musée avec bières et pèkèts ainsi que présentation au théâtre de tchantchès.
19h30 : Tous, nous sommes à ce moment 75, bien remis en forme avec le pèkèt, nous marchons 200m et rejoignons le restaurant « Tchantchès & Nanesse » où nous attendait un repas plus que copieux (Fondu du pays de Herve au sirop d’Aubel – Jambonneau rôti crème moutarde à l’ancienne – Bouquette liégeoise)
23h00 Rentrée à l’hôtel.
Samedi 12 Mai
Gros problème pour notre policière espagnole : Dans la nuit, Ryanair a envoyé un message lui annonçant l’annulation de son vol du 13 mai à 20hr. Elle doit reprendre son service pour une enquête importante à la PJ de Gérone le lundi matin et on lui propose un vol pour jeudi ! ! ! Montse est désespérée. Enfin, notre comité a couru dans tous les sens pour trouver une solution et « Servo Per Amikeco », nous lui avons offert un vol au départ de Bruxelles le 13 dans l’après-midi.
Départ du car à 08h15 précises pour rejoindre Blégny-Mine où la visite commence à 09hr. Le car de 78 places est rempli, des membres de Charleroi et de Liège nous ont rejoints et certains s’y rendent en voiture. Nous sommes escortés par 2 motards.
Visite de la mine en 3 groupes avec dégustation de pékèt au fond.
Entretemps notre Président a accueilli aux Guillemins Lech RELISZKO, de l’IPA Canada pour l’amener rejoindre le groupe à l’Abbaye de Val Dieu.
A 12h40, arrivée sur le site de Val Dieu où nous est réservée une terrasse extérieure (soleil et ombrage) pour un repas frugal (assiette froide et bière de Val Dieu).
Retour à l’hôtel pour un moment de temps libre permettant à nos hôtes de se reposer ou aller faire quelques emplettes.
18h30 Départ du car escorté par les motards la Police vers le quai Van Beneden pour l’embarquement sur le bateau « Le Pays de Liège »
Nous serons 142 convives à bord, 118 installés sur le pont inférieur et 24 sur le pont supérieur. Plusieurs collègues étrangers sont en uniforme dont celui bien visible de la Police montée canadienne (GRC).
Menu :
- Velouté de chicons au Bleu des Moines et sa quenelle au chèvre frais
- Filet pur de porcelet cuit à basse température, réduction de Val Dieu
- Gâteau du 60ème
Avant le repas, le Président André NICOLAS remercia nos hôtes en français, anglais, allemand, néerlandais et espagnol.
Au cours du repas il fut procédé à la remise des cadeaux par le Président. Il s’agissait d’un bloc en cristal au sein duquel sont gravés notre logo et les titres de notre provinciale.
Ont ainsi été appelés pour être remerciés :

A été appelé sur le podium, JR Junior, « Petit suisse » d’ 1m99 lequel s’en était pris pendant tout le séjour, avec beaucoup d’humour, à moi, responsable de l’organisation du 60ème. Je lui ai alors remis un fanion de l’IPA Liège. (e/c Jean-Robert Eyholzer)
Le Président de l’IPA EUREGIO, Franz HEINRICHS, nous a remis de manière très officielle un drapeau EUREGIO reprenant les logos des 6 sections IPA qui le compose. Nous avons également reçu une multitude de cadeaux de la part des délégations.
Les Présidents André NICOLAS et Benoît SENGGEN ont annoncé le prochain jumelage entre notre IPA Province de Liège et l’IPA du canton suisse du Valais.
Le Président National a ensuite repris la parole pour un mot de remerciements.
Quant aux participants, chacun a reçu en cadeau le petit verre à pekèt avec le sigle IPA de Liège en étain et la date anniversaire.
La pièce montée en glace avec le sigle du 60ème fut alors présentée à l’assemblée avant d’être répartie parmi les convives.
0h30 : Débarquement et retour à l’hôtel en 2 voyages, la soirée s’y est terminée au bar à 2h30.
Dimanche 13 Mai - Les adieux
10hr00 départ de nos 30 amis suisses. Ils ont +/- 10 heures de route et certains travaillent le lendemain matin. Embrassades et souhaits de se revoir pour un jumelage qui a été proposé au cours du séjour.
10h30 On devait tous se retrouver Place du Marché, sur la terrasse de « La Tocata » mais entretemps un petit crachin a fait son apparition. Fini le beau temps. Nous devons nous contenter de l’étage de ce petit établissement où nous nous sommes retrouvés vraiment à l’étroit.
Quelques bières ou soft drink pour les chauffeurs, petits pains garnis ont permis d’oublier le mauvais temps, et puis, le plus important c’est que nous étions heureux d’être encore ensemble. En ce jour de fête des mères, j’ai eu le privilège d’offrir à chaque dame une rose blanche.
Tout au long de la matinée nos nouveaux amis nous ont quittés pour rejoindre leur pays et à 13h00, officiellement nos festivités du 60ème étaient clôturées.
Cependant, le Trésorier se chargeait encore de conduire notre amie espagnole et nos amis maltais à l’aéroport de Bruxelles
A préciser que le couple américain, Thom & Meg CIURLIK poursuivait son séjour. Il était pris en charge le 14 mai par le Président et le Trésorier pour une visite de Bastogne et du War Museum et le 15 mai par notre Trésorier qui l’emmenait dans la région, le cimetière américain et à Saint-Hubert. Il était ensuite pris en charge par l’IPA Brabant le 16 mai avant de rejoindre les USA.
Conclusion
Après toutes ces semaines de préparation intense et le stress des derniers jours, principalement grâce au beau temps dont nous avons été gratifiés les 3 premiers jours, je puis dire que notre soixantième fut une grande réussite. Tout s’est déroulé sans accroc majeur et chaque jour nous avons reçus des éloges de la part des participants. Depuis la clôture des festivités nous avons déjà reçus plusieurs témoignages de remerciements de la part des différentes délégations.
Je remercie les Membres de notre Comité qui m’ont aidé dans cette organisation.

60th Anniversary from IPA Liège (from 10th to 13th of May 2018)
It is under the sunshine that we started the 4 days of our 60th anniversary
Thursday May 10th
At 3 o’clock in the afternoon, welcome to the participants from abroad sleeping in Pentahotel, Bd de la Sauvenière 100 at Liège.
However, since May 9th morning, our President already welcome Thomas CIURLIK and his wife coming from the 4th IPA Area in the United-States.
Then on May 10th, starting at 10 AM, our Secretary by this time welcome at the Guillemins, Montserrat SENAR, Spanish member (PJ of Gerono) and the couple Joseph CILIA from IPA Malta.
During the afternoon our Welcome Committee has welcome some active and retired colleagues from all ages from Germany, Denmark, Spain and Switzerland…
They have received a welcome beverage as well as a bag with the colors of our section, in which there was some information on Liège, badges with their names and the national flag.
At the arrival of the 30 persons coming from the Valais, Switzerland (Jean started to take care of them on the highway); they were convoyed with their President Benoît SENGGEN, the enjoyable atmosphere at the bar was growing up.
At 7 PM we were already seventy for our first dinner at the hotel (Salad with smoked duck’s breast, vinegar, honey - Poultry with truffles, mushroom, mille-feuille – Desert).
During the dinner, our President André NICOLAS gave a speech to wish he welcome our guests in French, German, English and Spanish.
This meal was really friendly with a pleasant mood.
The evening continued for some people at the hotel bar and outside; while others were tired because of the trip and preferred to get back to their rooms.
Friday May 11th
After the breakfast at 08h15, our visitors were ready for a busy day.
Departure by foot towards the Saint-Lambert Place where a guides in French, English and German took care of them to visit the old town. Four Dutch members of IPA Limburg Zuid joined us.
At 11am everybody was at the Provincial Palace where we have been welcome by the Governor of the Province, Mr. Hervé JAMAR, honor member of the association.
During the speech of the Governor, the “Roi/King” (del REY, young Swiss policeman) passed out and the Place services took charge of him, then by the Governor himself.
Finally, no real reason to worry for; it was just a problem of “digestion” coming from the previous evening.
At 12h25 after the traditional photo on the big stairs, we get out from the Provincial Palace to join with the TEC bus (specially reserved for us), the Police hotel from Liège, where 2 police bikers and the PAB service have welcome us.
Drink followed by traditional “boulets liégeois”, accompanied with a good wine.
Once the meal were finished, about 30 colleagues coming from abroad visited the PAB and the CGE of the Police from Liège; meanwhile, others and their spouses visited the Common Transport Museum for a quick visit, then went by foot to the Guillemins bus station via la Boverie and the footbridge.
The car then took everybody to go back to the hotel. Where we met a new couple coming from Germany who arrived in the afternoon with one day of delay.
Less than one hour to get dressed and be ready to take the bus at 6 PM toward the “République d’Outremeuse”.
18h15 the bus disembarked a part of the visitors Place de l’Yser for going to the Tchantchès Museum by foot via the typical neighborhood “En Roture”.
The others, more tired, have been dropped just in front of the museum.
The welcome at the Beer and Pékèts Museum, as well as the presentation of the Tchantchès Theatre.
19h30: Everybody; we were at that time 75, in a good shape with the pékèt, we walked 200 meters to go to the restaurant “Tchantchès & Nanesse” where a copious meal was waiting for us (Fondu du pays de Herve with Aubel syrup – Roasted Ham with mustard sauce – Desert (Bouquette liégeoise)).
23h00 Back at the hotel.
Saturday May 12th
Big trouble for our Spanish policewoman: during the night; Ryanair sent a message announcing that the flight on May 13th at 8 PM was cancelled.
But, she has to go back to work for an important investigation at the PJ of Gerone on Monday morning; and as a replacement, a flight on Thursday is suggested!!!
Montse lost hope. As a final point, our committee did his best to find out a solution (“Servo Amikeco”); then we have offered her a flight with a departure from Brussels on May 13th in the afternoon
Departure of the car at 08h15 to join Blégny-Mine where the visit started at 9 AM.
The bus of 78 places was full, some members of Charleroi and Liège joined us; while others took their cars.
We have been escorted by 2 Police bikers.
Visit of the mine in 3 groups with degustation of the Pékèt at the end.
Meanwhile our President has welcome to the Guillemins Lech RELISZKO, from IPA Canada to bring him to join the group at the Abbey of Val Dieu.
At 12h40, arrival on the site of Val Dieu where an external terrace was reserved for us (in the sun or in the shade) for a frugal meal (Cold dish with Val Dieu beer).
Back at the hotel, free time was given for a moment in order to bring the opportunity to our guests to have a rest or to go for shopping.
18h30 Departure of the car escorted with the motorcycle policemen towards the Quai Van Beneden for an embarkation on the boat “Le Pays de Liège”.
We were 142 guests on board, 118 were installed on the inferior deck and 24 on the superior deck. Several colleagues from abroad were in uniform, including “the most visible one” from our Canadian colleague who is in the “Police Montée Canadienne (GRC)”.
The menu :
- Chicory Soup with cheese “Bleu des Moines” and goat cheese.
- Piglet filet with a sauce made with Val Dieu beer
- Birthday cake of the 60th anniversary of IPA
Before the meal, the President André NICOLAS thanked his guests in French, English, German, Dutch and Spanish.
During the dinner, the President and participants have exchanged presents. The gift from IPA Liège was a crystal block on which was engraved its logo with the titles of our provincial.

JR Junior (Jean-Robert EYHOLZER), called “Petit Suisse/Little Swiss guy” from 1 meter 99, has been called on the podium, because he has been teasing me, responsible of the organization of this 60th IPA birthday, with a lot of humor, during the journey. I have then given him a flag from IPA Liège as a souvenir.
The President of IPA EUREGIO, Fanz HEINRICHS, has given us, in an official manner, the official flag EUREGIO taking back the logos of the 6 IPA sections which composed it.
The Presidents André NICOLAS and Benoît SENGEN have announced the future twinning between our IPA of the Province of Liège and the IPA from the Swiss Valais.
After, the National President thanked the participants to be present; and, each guests have received, as a present, a little glass of pékèt, with the acronym of IPA Liège in pewter plus the date of the birthday written down on it.
The ice cake with the acronym of 60th anniversary was presented to the assembly before being distributed to the guests.
0h30: Disembarkation and return to the hotel in 2 trips with the bus, the party finished at the hotel bar at 2h30.
Sunday May 13th – The goodbye
10 AM departure of our 30 friends from Switzerland. They have more or less 10 hours drive and some of them had to work the day after.
Hugs were exchanged moreover wishes to see each other for the twinning that has been suggested during the journey.
10h30 We had an appointment at the Place du Marché, on the terrace of “La Tocata”, but in the meantime a little rain appeared. The good weather was finished.
We were content with installing us to the first floor of this little establishment where we were in a narrow space.
A few beers, and soft drinks for the drivers, sandwiches have allowed us to forget the poor weather conditions; and after all, the most important was that we were happy to be still together.
For that “Mother day”, I was proud to offer a white rose to each woman.
During the whole morning, our new friends have left us to go back to their respective country; and, at 13h00, officially our celebrations of the 60th anniversary were closed.
However, the Treasurer took care of driving our friends, coming from Spain and Malta, to Brussels airport.
Specifying that Thom & Med CIURLIK, our American friends, were continuing their voyage. Our President and Treasurer took charge of them on May 14th by visiting Bastogne and the War Museum.
On May 15th, the Treasurer dealt with visiting the region, the American Cemetery and Saint-Hubert with them. Then, they were kept busy with IPA Brabant on May 16th, before flying back to USA.
Conclusion
After all these weeks of intense preparation and the stress of last days, principally because of the good weather that we have been granted for the first 3 days; I may say that our 60th birthday was a real success. Everything went smoothly without any major matter and each day we have been praised by our participants.
Since the end of the celebrations we have already received many thanks testimonies coming from different delegations.
I thank the Members of our Committee that have helped me in this organization.

60 Jahre IPA Lüttich (10. bis 13. Mai 2018)
Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein, begann die 4 tägige Feier unseres sechzigsten Jubiläums.
Donnerstag, 10. Mai
Ab 15 Uhr, empfingen wir die ausländische Teilnehmer im Pentahotel, Bd de Sauvenière 100 in Lüttich.
Unser Präsident hatte bereits am 9. Mai, nachmittags, Thomas CIURLIK und seine Frau, von der 4. IPA-Region der USA empfangen. Am 10., von 10 Uhr an, begrüßte unser Sekretär in Guillemins, Montserrat SENAR, spanisches Mitglied (Kripo Gerona) und das Ehepaar Joseph CILIA von der IPA MALTA.
Im Laufe des Nachmittags begrüßte unser Empfangskomitee aktive und pensionierte Kollegen aller Altersgruppen aus Deutschland, Dänemark, Spanien, der Schweiz. . . mit einem Begrüßungsgetränk und einer Tasche mit den Farben unserer Sektion, Informationen über Lüttich und Namensschildern mit der jeweiligen Nationalflagge.
Bei der Ankunft der 30 Schweizer aus dem Wallis (bereits auf der Autobahn von Jean aufgenommen), unter der Leitung ihres Präsidenten Benoît SENGGEN, ist die Stimmung an der Bar dann durch die Decke gegangen.
Um 19 Uhr waren wir schon etwa 70 Personen für unser erstes Abendessen im Hotel (Salat mit geräucherter Ente, warme Vinaigrette, Honig und Balsamico – Geflügelrouladen mit Trüffeln, sautierten Pilzen, Nachspeisenteller)
Während des Essens begrüßte unser Präsident André NICOLAS auf Französisch, Deutsch, Englisch und Spanisch die Gäste. Dieses Essen fand in einer fröhlichen und äußerst entspannten Atmosphäre statt.
Der Abend verlängerte sich für einige an der Hotelbar und draußen, während andere, die von der Reise müde waren, sich in ihre Zimmer begaben.
Freitag, 11. Mai
Nach dem Frühstück um 08.15 Uhr, waren unsere Gäste für einen anstrengenden Tag bereit. Aufbruch zu Fuß zum Place St. Lambert, wo sie von Stadtführern in Französisch, Englisch und Deutsch bei einem Besuch in der Altstadt betreut wurden. Vier Holländer von IPA Limburg Süd haben sich uns angeschlossen.
Um 11 Uhr trafen sich alle im Provinzpalast, wo wir vom Gouverneur der Provinz, Herrn Hervé JAMAR, Ehrenmitglied unseres Vereins, empfangen worden sind. Während der Rede des Gouverneurs fiel der "König" (del REY, ein junger Schweizer Polizist) in Ohnmacht und wurde von den Bediensteten des Palastes und dann vom Gouverneur persönlich betreut. Mit dem Schrecken davon gekommen, hat er den Abend davor nicht so gut verdaut.
Um 12. 25 Uhr, nach dem traditionellen Foto auf der großen Treppe, verließen wir den Provinzpalast, um mit dem TEC-Bus, der speziell für uns reserviert war, zur Polizeidienststelle von Lüttich zu gelangen, wo uns 2 Kradfahrer und der PAB-Dienst begrüßten.
Dem Aperitif folgten traditionelle Lütticher Frikadellen und das Ganze wurde begleitet von einem guten Glas Wein.
Nach dem Mittagessen besuchten etwa 30 ausländische Kollegen die PAB-Dienststelle und die CGE der Lütticher Polizei, während andere Kollegen und die Frauen für einen kurzen Besuch in das Verkehrsmuseum und dann über die Boverie und die Fußgängerbrücke zum Bahnhof Guillemins gingen.
Der Bus holte dann alle ab, um zum Hotel zurückzufahren. Dort haben wir ein anderes deutsches Ehepaar getroffen, das am Nachmittag mit einem Tag Verspätung angekommen war.
Nach einer knappen Stunde der Entspannung waren wir dann um 18:00 Uhr bereit, den Bus zur "Freie Republik Outremeuse" zu nehmen.
Um 18.15 Uhr hielt der Bus auf dem Place de l'Yser, wo ein Teil der Besucher aussteigen konnte, um zu Fuß über den typischen Stadtteil "En Roture" zum Museum Tchantchès zu gelangen. Die anderen, etwas müderen, stiegen vor dem Museum aus. Es folgte eine Begrüßung im Museum mit Bier und Pèkèt (lokaler Wacholderschnaps), sowie einer Präsentation im Tchantchès Theater (berühmte Lütticher Marionettenfiguren).
Um 19.30 Uhr waren wir 75 Personen und dank dem Pèkèt gut in Form. Wir gingen anschließend 200m bis zum Restaurant "Tchantchès & Nanesse" zu Fuß, wo auf uns ein mehr als herzhaftes Essen wartete (Fondu a la Herve mit Sirup aus Aubel - Gebratene Schweinshaxe mit grobkörniger Senfcreme –Lütticher Buchweizenpfannkuchen) und gegen 23:00 Uhr kehrten wir zum Hotel zurück.
Samstag, 12. Mai
Der Tag begann mit einem großen Problem für unsere spanische Polizeibeamtin. In der Nacht hat Ryanair ihr eine Nachricht geschickt, die die Annullierung ihres Fluges vom 13. Mai, um 8.00 Uhr, ankündigte. Sie musste aber am Montagmorgen ihren Dienst wegen einer wichtigen Ermittlung bei der Kriminalpolizei in Girona wieder aufnehmen und man bot ihr einen Flug für Donnerstag an! Montse war verzweifelt. Schließlich ist unser Komitee in alle Richtungen aktiv geworden, um eine Lösung zu finden und nach dem IPA-Motto "Servo Per Amikeco", haben wir ihr einen Flug am Nachmittag des 13. Mai ab Brüssel angeboten.
Um 08.15 Uhr, fuhr der Bus um ab zur Mine in Blégny, wo der Besuch um 09:00 Uhr begann. Der 78-Sitzer-Bus war voll, Mitglieder von Charleroi und Lüttich haben sich uns angeschlossen und einige fuhren mit dem Auto dorthin. Wir wurden erneut von 2 Kradfahrern eskortiert.
Der Besuch der Mine erfolgte in 3 Gruppen mit anschließender Pékèt Verkostung 60 m unter der Erde.
In der Zwischenzeit begrüßte unser Präsident in Guillemins Lech RELISZKO von der IPA Kanada, um ihn ab zu holen und sich der Gruppe anzuschließen, die sich bereits im Kloster Val Dieu befand.
Um 12.40 Uhr, Ankunft auf dem Gelände der Abtei von Val Dieu, wo man für uns eine Außenterrasse (Sonne und Beschattung) für eine genügsame Mahlzeit (Kalte Platte und Bier von Val Dieu) reserviert hatte.
Zurück zum Hotel gab es etwas Freizeit, in der sich unsere Gäste ausruhen oder einkaufen gehen konnten.
18.30 Uhr erfolgte die Abfahrt des Reisebusses unter Eskorte von Kradfahrern zum Anlegeplatz Van Beneden und dort stiegen wir auf das Schiff "Le Pays de Liège" um.
Wir waren 142 Gäste an Bord, 118 auf dem Unterdeck und 24 auf dem Oberdeck. Viele ausländische Kollegen waren in Uniform, einschließlich der auffälligen von der Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Vor dem Essen dankte Präsident André NICOLAS unseren Gästen auf Französisch, Englisch, Deutsch, Niederländisch und Spanisch.
Während des Essens wurden die Geschenke vom Präsidenten übergeben. Es handelte sich um einen Kristallblock, in dem unser Logo und das Motto unserer Provinz eingraviert ist.

Auf das Podium wurde JR Junior, der "kleine Schweizer" mit 1,99m Körpergröße gerufen, der während des gesamten Aufenthalts mit viel Humor für uns gesorgt hat und für die Organisation des 60. Jubiläums verantwortlich war. Ich übergab ihm dann einen Wimpel der IPA Lüttich (E/C Jean-Robert Eyholzer).
Der EUREGIO-IPA-Präsident, Franz HEINRICHS, überreichte uns offiziell eine EUREGIO-Flagge mit den Logos der 6 IPA-Sektionen. Wir haben auch eine Vielzahl von Geschenken von den Delegationen erhalten.
Die Präsidenten André NICOLAS und Benoît SENGGEN haben die nächste Partnerschaft zwischen unserer IPA-Provinz Lüttich und der IPA des Schweizer Kantons Wallis bekannt gegeben.
Der Nationalpräsident ergriff dann das Wort und bedankte sich.
Was die Teilnehmer anbelangt, erhielten alle als Geschenk das kleine Pèkèt-Glas mit dem IPA-Logo von Lüttich aus Zinn und das eingeprägte Jubiläumsdatum.
Das Glas mit dem darauf angebrachte Logo aus Zinn zum 60. Jubiläum, wurde der Versammlung präsentiert, bevor es unter den Gästen verteilt wurde.
Um 00.30erfolgte der Ausstieg vom Schiff und die Rückkehr zum Hotel in 2 Fahrten, der Abend endete an der Bar um 02.30 Uhr.
Sonntag, 13. Mai - Abschied
Die Abfahrt von unseren 30 Schweizer Freunden erfolgte um 10.00 Uhr. Sie sind +/- 10 Stunden unterwegs und einige arbeiten bereits am nächsten Morgen. Umarmungen und Wiedersehenswünsche für eine Partnerschaft, die während des Aufenthalts vorgeschlagen wurde.
Um 10.30 Uhr sollten wir uns alle auf dem Place du Marché, auf der Terrasse von "La Tocata“ treffen, aber zwischenzeitlich setzte ein leichter Nieselregen ein. Das schöne Wetter war vorbei. Wir mussten uns mit einer Etage dieses kleinen Etablissements zufrieden geben, in der wir uns sehr eingeengt fühlten.
Ein paar Bier oder Softdrink für die Fahrer, sowie belegte Brötchen haben das schlechte Wetter vergessen lassen und dann war das Wichtigste, dass wir glücklich waren, noch zusammen zu sein.
Am Muttertag hatte ich das Privileg, jeder Dame eine weiße Rose zu schenken.
Während des ganzen Vormittags verließen uns unsere neuen Freunde, um in ihr Land zurückzukehren und um 13:00 Uhr wurden unsere Feierlichkeiten zum 60. jährigen Jubiläum offiziell beendet.
Der Schatzmeister erklärte sich bereit, unseren spanischen Freund und unsere maltesischen Freunde zum Brüsseler Flughafen zu fahren.
Hinzuzufügen ist, dass das amerikanische Paar Thom & Meg CIURLIK ihren Aufenthalt fortgesetzt hat. Das Paar wurde am 14. Mai vom Präsidenten und dem Schatzmeister bei einem Besuch in Bastogne und dem Kriegsmuseum und am 15. Mai von unserem Schatzmeister unterstützt, der ihn zum den Amerikanischen Friedhof in der Region und nach Saint-Hubert brachte. Anschließend wurde es am 16. Mai von der IPA Brabant betreut, bevor es in die USA zurückkehrte.
Fazit
Nach all diesen Wochen intensiver Vorbereitung und dem Stress der letzten Tage, vor allem Dank des guten Wetters, von dem wir in den ersten drei Tage gesegnet waren, kann ich sagen, dass unser sechzigstes Jubiläum ein großer Erfolg war. Alles verlief ohne erhebliche Unannehmlichkeiten und jeden Tag erhielten wir Lob von den Teilnehmern.
Seit dem Abschluss der Feierlichkeiten haben wir bereits mehrere Dankesbekundungen von den verschiedenen Delegationen erhalten.
Ich danke den Mitgliedern unseres Komitees, die mir bei dieser Organisation geholfen haben.
